    News Stories

    • Christmas
      At Sandbrook we celebrated Christmas by producing some excellent Christmas performances. In our RE lessons we have been learning about the Christmas story and how Christmas is celebrated throughout the world.
    • If Music be the food of love, play on.
      In year 2 we have been listening to the Music of Gustav Holst. We listened to Mercury and thought about things that it reminded us of. Next we drew pictures of things that we were reminded of. It was a very exciting and interesting lesson.
    • Our local area
      In year 2 we have been investigating our local area. We walked around Kirkholt and then we made a map in the playground. After this we made a map of our local area in our Foundation books.
    • Harvest
      Thank you for your generosity! We collected a huge amount of food for the Rochdale food bank. Incredibly we managed to fill a whole van full of food.
    • Visit to places of worship
      In year 2 we walked around the local area to investigate all the buildings used for worship. These photographs were taken by year 2 children on their journey.
    • French Scavenger Hunt
      Our recent French Scavenger hunt was fantastique!
    • Year 1 and 2 Christmas performance of Humph and Hey Ewe!
      In year 1, we performed Humph. This was our Christmas play. Year 2 kindly observed and evaluated our dress rehearsal. Year 2 performed the fantastic "Hey Ewe".
    • Year 3 & 4’s Bedtime Book Box
      Year 3 & 4 will be starting a new, magical reading project to share at home. Each Friday, a child will be chosen to have the Bedtime Book Box for the week. Inside are ‘Wonderful Thing!’

      Children's work they have completed at home about the Great Fire of London.
